At mg Pilates our ethos is about teaching you Pilates with expertise and kindness in a safe environment.
During our private or semi-private studio session, (3 people maximum per instructor), each client is taught according to their individual needs. Over the course of an hour, you will be guided through a series of Pilates moves – both on the mats and on specialised equipment – that are designed to help your body, while under constant supervision from the instructor.
These one-hour studio sessions increase gradually in intensity as you gain greater strength, with plenty of juicy stuff to keep you coming back for more.
How does it work?
First, we ask that you book in for a one hour initial consultation. This will allow us to assess your body, discuss your goals, and familiarise you with the core ideas of Pilates and the equipment we use. There will be a fair amount of movement in this first assessment.
We can then help you find an appropriate time to commence either your private or semi private sessions, depending on your needs and wishes.
Pilates is a wonderfully deep resource and our talented team of instructors are qualified to teach at all levels. There is a lovely flow to each session, and you will work with traditional Pilates equipment such as the Cadillac, the Spine Corrector and the Reformer. Springs on the equipment will aid with resistance, and help turn on and off your most appropriate muscles. As your flexibility and coordination improve, so too will your exercises.
We recommend 2-3 sessions per week for the best results, although one session a week is a great starting point.
And if it comes down to budget, you could supplement your studio sessions with mat classes (provided you are not pregnant or have specific injuries).
A Pilates workout on any level is fully satisfying and leaves you feeling lighter, stronger and taller. Why not give it a go? It might change your life.
