Bring your baby
Giving birth is a life changing event and our body can feel like it’s not your own anymore.
It mightn’t look or feel the same as it once did but don’t despair, you can have your body back, and feel strong and agile again.
mg Pilates now offers parents and their young babies studio sessions. During the session you can attend to your baby for feeding, nappy changing or settling needs whenever you wish. So, you get to enjoy the benefits of a Pilates workout with our traditional equipment with your baby right beside you in a bouncer or on a mat. Of course, if you’re lucky enough to arrive with a sleeping baby in the pram, let them slumber sweetly while you workout.
Pilates will strengthen your pelvic floor and abdominals, tone your entire body, and stretch out those achy tight spots from carrying, lifting, feeding and changing your little one. It will also give you a strong sense of wellbeing and confidence.
If you have been seeing a physiotherapist, osteopath or chiropractor for pelvic dysfunctions or other conditions we can also liaise with your practitioner to discuss the best possible outcome.
As with all our studio sessions you will begin with a one-hour initial consultation so that we can fully assess your birth history and needs. You can then proceed to join a group of parents for semi private studio sessions.
Fathers are very welcome to join these classes with their babies too.
Classes are at specific times so please call or email the studio to book first.
These sessions are for babies up to one year old. Once your baby discovers their feet it can become a little less enjoyable and you may need switch to baby-free times should you wish to continue.
Prices and booking conditions are the same as our regular studio sessions.
