Clare is passionate about teaching the therapeutic benefits of Pilates, having experienced extraordinary results herself. In her mid-thirties Clare was diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis – a degenerative condition causing joint inflammation particularly in the spine and hips. After committing to a regular pilates practice, her painful flare ups didn’t last as long and were less frequent. Empowered by these results Clare started her teacher training in order to give other chronic pain sufferers and people with restricted mobility a pathway to pain free movement and reduce or eliminate the need for medication.
Inspired by her classical ballet training in the UK and love of yoga, Clare brings flow and mindfulness to her classes, encouraging her students to ‘tune in’ to their body’s unique and individual needs and to build strength and control without injury. Clare explores the powerful relationship of breath and movement through Pilates and loves how rejeuvenated the mind and body feel after a Pilates workout.
Clare began her Pilates Teacher Training at Polestar Pilates in 2013. Since she qualified as a mat instructor in 2014 Clare has been teaching regularly at MG Pilates and other venues in the inner west. Clare is currently studying her diploma of Studio Pilates at Polestar Pilates.
